Artist Spotlight: Valentine – Kina Grannis
So recently, I have been looking online for new musical talents on the net. Mainly, I wanted to keep an eye out for unsigned artist to invite into my new podcast called The Pauli Carman Show. The music industry has changed, artists of the digital era are not only the singer-songwriters, but also the producer and marketing manager of their own promotions.
I came across this artist Kina Grannis and was blown away by her talent as a singer and songwriter. A short history on Kina, who is based out on the westcoast, won a music contest to have her song and music video broadcast during the Superbowl. Eventually, signed with interscope records. For whatever reason, Kina left the label to pursue music as an indie artist.
I love how she is taking the power into her own hands to self-produce, promote her music and finding an audience via an internet connection.
Definitely going to keep an eye out for this artist – Kina Grannis
